imstill-theoptimist: Both my hedgies anointed today. It was so cute! I got just this one on my phone. The other is on Kyle’s. Just put Pookie in a box so we could clean out the bedding and put in a new fabric bedding we got today. c: Man I could watch hedgehog anointing all day long. I think it’s so hilarious!

free-as-my-h-a-i-r asked: I've had my hedgie for about the same about of time as you. She was a birthday present to my self, and i couldnt be happier with her. If there is anyone on the fence about getting one... DO IT. they are so cute and they are easy to take care of if you do the proper research. (:

funlovingchild asked: And I'm sorry again for asking another question! XD I wanted to see the little guy today but I knew he was stressed and I kept wanting to hold him but now he has hidden underneath his bedding (which is a towel that I had) and is in his hiding spot underneath that towel. I'm worried he might get over-heated but I'm also worried he won't be able to breath. Is there anything I...

Hoggleton and food,
Whenever I’m cleaning their cages before I got to bed, I always give them a couple mealies. Well, I guess Hoggleton has figured out the routine because when I got to his cage his head was sticking out like he was waiting. So I dangled a meal worm in from of him and instead of coming all the way out, he kind of stuck his paw out. A sort of usher, if you will, for me to bring the meal worm...

Ok, first thing first, if I see another hedgehog with a mesh wheel, I’m going to go apeshit. No wheel is better than mesh wheels. If any of my followers get a hedgehog and gets a mesh wheel, I will find you and beat you up! People should know this if they’ve done any type of research at all on hedgehogs. Secondly, this wheel is way too small! Can’t the person recording this see...

fuckyeahbromancin asked: Hey, I recently got a hedgehog too! Let me know if you have any questions, as I've pretty much researched the subject to death. Or just want to commiserate on anything. Like poop-covered wheels haha.

Anonymous asked: At night when my Hoggie comes out I occasionally put the light on to see how he is but he runs straight back into his house. If he's on his wheel he hides beneath it. But if he's out during the day & sees/hears me it doesn't bother him?

funlovingchild asked: Hi there! In the next couple of days I will hopefully be getting my own hedgehog and it will be my first one! I have looked up to see about vet visits but how often should I take him to the vet? And do they need shots like how cats and dogs get them annually?

THINGS THEY DON'T TELL YOU ABOUT HEDGEHOGS:
toxic-influence: they smell. they’re noisy. they’re almost always cranky. they shit. everywhere. (especially on their wheels, have fun cleaning that up). &scratch around their litterboxes all night. then procede to chomp obnoxiously on their food. and run on their wheels some more. dear god adonis, let me fucking sleep. the joys of being a hedgemom
